I recently celebrated my 25th birthday, the 13th of September! This birthday was one of the best birthdays I’ve had in a really long time. Normally I get mad anxiety about my birthday because it never turns out how I want. But this year was totally different, not so much because of what I did (although it was amazing), but because of the head space I’m in. I truly feel a sense of contentment, which is different from happiness. Happiness is defined by our circumstances, but contentment is defined by overall satisfaction regardless of the circumstances. I’m at a really good place in my life, I’m really into my blessings and learning to be okay with the life I’ve been given, the good and bad. I was surrounded by nothing, but love and I’m still smitten!
In celebration of my birthday and Virgo season, because we are celebrating all September long! I wanted to do something different and fun for all my supporters. So, I’m going to tell you guys 25 random facts about me!
1. I’m the 4th of eight kids (and yes we all have the same mom & dad) and I'm one of two girls!
2. My favorite bible verse is Psalm 46:5 “God is within her, she will not fail” I came across this verse back when I was in nursing school and it has been something that has stuck with me since then. I got my first tattoo in 2016 with my best friend and I got it tatted on my chest/shoulder. It gives me strength on those hard days and reminds me I’m a woman of God and through him all things are possible.
3. My favorite show is “The Real” and when I miss it some days because it comes on during the week, I watch clips on YouTube and their IG page.
4. My two favorite movies are Mean Girls and The Notebook.
5. My dream vacation is to visit the “The Mother Land” of Africa and see the elephants. Elephants are my favorite animals. I’d actually love to do a DNA ancestry first and learn what parts of African descent my family originates from first and then go.
6. I’ve planned my wedding day since high school and change what I want every few years. LOL
7. A dream/goal of mine: I want to become so financially stable to retire my parents and buy a family vacation home in another country and state.
8. My biggest fear is not living my life out to the full potential of who God desires me to be and all the things he has laid out for me.
9. I like when people pick my brain and really get to know me, because I am a bit introverted at times so I keep a lot of things private. I like the feeling of being pursed and someone wanting to learn every little detail of who I am and going beyond the surface.
10. When I become married and have a family, I would love to be a stay at home mother to my children while they’re young or work very very per diem. Which is why I don’t mind working my ass off in my 20’s and assuring that me and my future husband are financially stable to do so. That’s what I remember as a child and I’m so grateful for that!
11. I’m very sensitive, my feelings are easily hurt. But I’m very “matter of fact” in that I know when someone is being functionally critical to help me for the better.
12. I love being vulnerable, I’m completely content with showing my emotions verbally. It allows you to show your most authentic self and allows people to learn how to love you properly.
13. I love love love receiving affection, but have a hard time giving it. But in my mind, I’m affectionate af LOL. I’m working on that for my lover! I think it’s the introvert in me.
14. When I have kids, I’ve always said I wanted 3 boys. I also have my baby names saved in my notes and ironically majority of the names are for little girls. I wonder if that’s a sign lol
15. I’m a dog mom! I have a pit bull, who I was forced to adopt lol, her name is Zena! I want a French bulldog one day!
16. I still have my best friend from childhood, over 20 years and were great friends, not just a “hey how you doing”, watching her raise her baby girl! I also still have my best friend from high school, 10 years strong! My right hand, my personal diary, and accountability partner!
17. I love “Love”. And when I love, I love hard. Hard af!
18. I use to only get my nails painted neutral colors and just recently branched out to other colors! I have this mint green right now and might keep it forever! But I only get my toes WHITE and rarely clear!
19. I have 3 tattoos. The one I mentioned above, I have my brothers nickname on my wrist, and a cross behind my ear.
20. I look identical to my daddy, but the older I get the more I realize I’m just like my mommy! A lot of things she’s told me that she experienced, I have too! And our way of thinking and personalities are very similar. But I’m like my daddy in that we both speak our mind and have a very strong intuition. I always say God gave us a gift!
21. I’ve had surgery once and got stitches before, all under the age of 10
22. My favorite meal of the day is breakfast and my favorite food is pizza.
23. I will forever be a nurse, but I think I’m leaning towards education of nursing in my later years of my career. I love to teach others and I like to learn! I like the background of things and how it’s done and the anatomy of the body in how it works. I would also love to be a nurse/life influencer.
24. I’m a hypochondriac (funny coming from the nurse) when the slightest thing happens to me health wise, I freak the fuck out!
25. I was happy af that my friends bought me a cake for my birthday! When I blow out my birthday candles, I actually say a prayer not a wish.
