Nurse Mo was (and still is) my sole inspiration in what drove me to start this journey in building my social media platform. I started following her on IG back in 2015 and my gravitation to her started with who she was as a nurse, but then I found myself becoming inspired by her work and how she promoted women empowerment and being authentically yourself. She has helped me to discover and fall in love with myself and my own passions and helped ignite my drive to become comfortable enough to share it with the world. I consider myself to be a woman of little words at times, but when I do speak, I speak from the soul and have such a creative spirit. I thought why keep this to myself, why not glow and radiate my highest vibrations with the world. Because just like what Monique did for me, I can do for someone else.
Unfortunately, but true a lot of times in our culture as black women when we see someone in the same lane as us, we as women naturally become territorial, but why? No matter how saturated a given area of expertise may become, if God put you in that position, no one can take it from you! We all glow different, so yes, we may be in the same field, but what I bring to the table and what you bring is totally different! But we both earned a seat at the table, so if you teach me and I teach you then we automatically become magical af and successful as a collective. Why are you so afraid to teach another being to be as great as you? Nobody can steal your shine, because God made you fully divine, we can only glow brighter together!
For us women to win as whole, our togetherness must grow further than just the workforce. This accounts for our everyday encounters and friendships. I’m not saying that you have to become besties with every single person, but we all should be able to coexist. I’m amongst a group chat of about 14 women! Maybe even more, some new babe is always being added! I know what you’re thinking, my phone doesn’t stop ringing. No worries, I mute they ass some days! Lmao! But no that’s a lot of different personalities, attitudes, and differences in opinion etc, the list could literally go on. But what it also is, a lot of black girl magic, motivation, healing, inspiration, positive vibes, and amazing bomb ass women! We hold so much power, our strength is of a thousand moons! What’s so amazing is that this all started because we came together for my best friend graduation last May, so it was a mix of her different friend groups, coming together for a weekend, but it created an avenue of new friendships. Are we all besties now? No. Are some closer than others? Yes. But we’re all able to give each other positive and functional encouragement, advice, and love! It’s amazing to receive love and acknowledgement from people who know you, but it’s even more amazing to receive support and love from people who may not know you as well, but still willing to uplift you & help cultivate your highest self! I love yall!
For you to imagine and become a person of positivity, energetic, good health, magnetic, loveable and loving, you must surround yourself around people who are of such. Surround yourself around those type of women and then become that type of woman for the next person! We need that & we need you!
Go support your favorite girl, tell her you’re proud of her! Support that stranger who you admire from a far, support the girl in the same field as you, support the girl who choose a different path from you!
